Tom Cruise’s latest movie, “Valkyrie”, has hit even more film at the German Defence Ministry – and all the footage has accidentally been destroyed. Every frame has been irretrievably lost after an error in developing the film footage.
According to German newspapers, the development firm Arri Munich reported there were problems with the negative and it was treated with the wrong chemical. “The images were wiped away,” said Colin Ullman, a spokesman for a company involved in delivering the footage to the developers.
The entire night shoot will have to be remounted at enormous cost – night shooting is always more expensive than daytime.
This is the latest problem to befall the shooting, which began with the German ministry initially decrying the movie and extras being injured on set.
